On the other hand, ventures to the Caribbean were at the wrong time as the Cuban Missile Crisis made a number of tours to Havana impossible. Did get to see the city lights when my ship, The Okinawa, passed between Key West and that city before the blackout. However, courtesy of a small portable radio, was serenaded with many Latin tunes that still echo the past." |
